Banner, Gift Wrap, & Card

My brother had his first baby. She is so precious. To bad I don't get to enjoy her since we live across the country from each other. So I made this banner to send with my mom who would be flying there to visit. Since she had to put this in her luggage, I decorated it simple so it wouldn't get messed up. My new niece is Charlotte. They said they would call her Charlie so I made the banner with her nick name.

This is a white giftbox that I decorated & attached a small card to.
I love how her name on this box turned out.
I just combined several stamps to achieve this look.
Stamps used: Close to my Heart - Charming Chevrons Flair, Hopscotch Alphabet
Inks used: Close to my Heart - Slate, Honey

3"x 3" Card
Supplies
Cricut Cut: 1 3/4", button- 5, function- accent 4, page 35, Cricut Artiste Cartridge
Ink: Close to my Heart - Slate, Honey
Washie Tape
Paper: Core'dinations (Sanded)

This is the whole banner. Its so hard to take a good picture of a banner. I hope you can see the concept of the project from this picture.

The first and last flag had washie tape stripes on it.

This is how I added the washie tape to each triangle flag.
Then I took scissors and trimmed the edges before adhering to the scallop flag.

This is what the letter flags looked like.

Banner Instructions

Triangle Flag: Cut 5", button 29, pg 49

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Last week was teacher appreciation week.
So I made a few gifts for my girls teachers.
I got a small metal tin & put a travel lotion and hand sanitizer in it.
Then I included a notebook or post-it note holder.
Sorry I realized I never took a picture of the final gift,
but here is the gifts I made.

4" x 6" Notebook with Pen
Sketchbook: 4"x6" (from Staples)
Cover: 9 5/8" x 6 1/8"
Score:  5", 4 1/2", 4 1/8"
Cut: 2 slits 1" apart to hold R.S.V.P style pen (from Staples)
Score: every 1/8" along pen opening, vertically to help it bend evenly.
Note: the score marks are 3/8" and 1/2" to make a larger opening for the larger pen. If using a MINI Pen score 3/8" and 3/8" apart and trim off extra in length. These numbers are just guides to give you an idea of how to make it.

Stamp Set: Close to my Heart - Dreamer Flair
Ink: Close to my Heart - Hollyhock, Honey
Ribbon
Washie Tape

Post-it Note Holder with Pen
I didn't come up with this idea. But thank you to whoever is the original designer because many of us in the crafting world make this wonderful gift, now.

Base: 7 3/8" x 3 1/4"
Pattern Paper: 3" x 2 7/8"
Score at: 3 1/8", 3 1/2", 3 7/8"

Cut 2 slits about 3/4"-1" apart in the middle when the scored section is folded. This will make the pen holder. The 3 1/8" side will be the front of the holder. Use tacky tape or a strong adhesive, put it where the back of the pen holder will be. Fold out the pen holder first. Then put tacky tape or a strong adhesive on the back of the post-it note holder. Put it in the holder then decorate the outside.
I used several Close to my Heart stamps for this project. I stamped them on White Dasiy Cardstock and then cut them all out. Then I laid them out to see how I wanted it to look.

Stamps used to decorate the outside:
(from the Artiste Cricut Collection)
owl - Lollydoodle Cardmaking Workshop (from the Card Kit)
heart & stem - Lollydoodle Cardmaking Workshop (from the Card Kit)
enjoy the little things - Enjoy the Little Things Hostess Rewards

Other Supplies used:
Ink: Close to my Heart - Lagoon, Hollyhock, Honey, Chocolate
