New Idea Book, New Close to my Heart Products, New Project

Can you tell there is a theme going on in my Blog Post Title?
NEW!
Today Close to my Heart came out with a new Idea Book. There are SO many new products in it. I went through all my Stamp Sets (16+) and realized that only 2 of them are in the New Idea Book.

I want to share with you today my favorite Paper Pack from this Book.
It is called Seaside. But there are so many things it can be used for besides Beach themed projects. I love the color pallet & prints they put together to create it.

Using this NEW Seaside Paper Pack I made a Baby Diaper.
It could be used as an invitation, card, or announcement.

Supplies:
CTMH = Close to my Heart
Paper - Seaside Paper Pack (CTMH)
Cartridge - Artiste Cricut Cartrige (CTMH)
Ink - Desert Sand (CTMH)
Sponge - (CTMH) I cut it in 1/4ths and use 1 section to ink the edges of the paper
Pen - Marvy Uchida LePen Journaling Pen (CTMH)

Instructions:
Cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge the following cuts & sizes:
Diaper - size: 4"
              button 34, pg 64
              function - Card/Shift
Oval - size: 4" & 3 1/2"
           button 34, pg 64
           function - Card
Accent - size: 2"
              button 34, pg 64
              function - Accent 3
It's a BOY -  size: 1 1/2"
              button 34, pg 64
              function - Accent 1/shift

  • Ink around the edges with desert Sand Ink. I cut a 3" circle sponge into 1/4th's. Then use one of those sections and dab it onto the ink pad. Then rub it onto the edges of the paper where I want to distress it.
  • Then put dash marks on the "It's a BOY" with the journaling pen. Adhere it to the Accent piece. Then attach to the diaper with foam adhesive to give it some dimension.

Summer Break - Family Time

I haven't been around as much because my girls are on Summer Break.
It's important that we have good family time.
So I haven't been crafting and posting my creations with you.

Warning: the following contains lots of pictures of what we did this Summer.

Fishing Time. The girls catch so many fish on their kid poles. I usually am taking fish off their lines the whole time.

My little monkey playing at the park. Enjoying the beautiful weather.

We camped at Indiana Beach for a week & made lots of memories.

Ariel turned 7 years old.

Enjoying the 4th of July Parade.

Exercise Time.
We got a new bridge on the bike path near our house.
So we ran/walked to go see it. It was such a beautiful day.

The girls started taking swimming lessons at our YMCA. They love it.

It's hard to believe they will both be in school all day this year. They go back to school in less than a month. So we have been making memories & enjoying each other this summer. Once they are back in school I plan on spending more time crafting & sharing my Simple Creations with you.

Banner, Gift Wrap, & Card

My brother had his first baby. She is so precious. To bad I don't get to enjoy her since we live across the country from each other. So I made this banner to send with my mom who would be flying there to visit. Since she had to put this in her luggage, I decorated it simple so it wouldn't get messed up. My new niece is Charlotte. They said they would call her Charlie so I made the banner with her nick name.

This is a white giftbox that I decorated & attached a small card to.
I love how her name on this box turned out.
I just combined several stamps to achieve this look.
Stamps used: Close to my Heart - Charming Chevrons Flair, Hopscotch Alphabet
Inks used: Close to my Heart - Slate, Honey

3"x 3" Card
Supplies
Cricut Cut: 1 3/4", button- 5, function- accent 4, page 35, Cricut Artiste Cartridge
Ink: Close to my Heart - Slate, Honey
Washie Tape
Paper: Core'dinations (Sanded)

This is the whole banner. Its so hard to take a good picture of a banner. I hope you can see the concept of the project from this picture.

The first and last flag had washie tape stripes on it.

This is how I added the washie tape to each triangle flag.
Then I took scissors and trimmed the edges before adhering to the scallop flag.

This is what the letter flags looked like.

Banner Instructions

Scallop Flag: Cut 5.5", button 39, pg 59
Triangle Flag: Cut 5", button 29, pg 49
Letters cut from: Storybook Cricut Cartridge
         Cut 2.25"
Sand all the edges
Add washie tape & trim
Adhere the letters & flags together
Punch wholes in all the flags
String together with ribbon

Banners can be made for any purpose.
Such as decorations for a party, a bedroom, holidays, & so much more.
