Fresh Brewed Challenge #29

 Fresh Brewed Challenge #29
This is my first card I have made with Copic Markers. I just got them for Christmas & have played around with them a little. I purchased a few Digi Stamps from Fresh Brewed Designs & wanted to give this challenge a shot.

This is the sketch for this challenge.
I used Fresh Brewed Designs-Christmas Angel Cake, Copic Ciao Markers, Star Dust Stickles (on the wings and hair), Glossy Accents (on the shoes), PaperTrey Ink - Signature Christmas Stamp, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder by Provo Craft.

These are the following markers I used.
Skin- E51, YR00
Blush- RV42
Dress- RV21, RV 34
Hair- E51, E33
Wings- RV42, Colorless Blender
Leaves- G94
Berries- R46

Since I am just staring to use Copic Markers I quickly realized how important the paper is. What paper do you use? I bought a special marker sketch pad at Hobby Lobby but even that bleeds bad. I just ordered Neenah paper but haven't tried it yet. What paper do you prefer?

  1. I have heard A LOT of good about that paper. I use Papertray Inc.. it is thick and my markers seem to blend well with it. I use Prismacolor though, so I am not sure about the copics

your card is ADORABLE!!!! I LOVE IT!!! Angel cake looks soooo sweet. My DD Hannah loved how you colored her! That felt rickrack is gorgeous!

Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges and for adding our blog hop badge!

  2. Wow, Angela - how sweet this is! You've done a wonderful job using your Copics - your coloring is fantastic! I also use PTI paper - it's thick and bountiful and holds color well w/out bleeding and your image is just spot on with your coloring! Thanks for playing along this week at the Fresh Brewed Challenge!

  3. And to mimic my co-dt members I too use PTI paper, it is my favorite and very affordable! I have heard good things about the Neenah paper too, though I haven't used it. I have also used MFT panels and they work well, but are hard to print digi's on. Also I have found that if you heat set your image first the colors don't run as badly. You however colored this image like a PRO!!! This really is a lovely card!! Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges!

  4. Thank you ladies for your wonderful comments & for the suggestions on the paper. I started reading that PTI's paper was good, after I had just placed a large order so I didn't have to pay shipping. So I will try to work with what I have & order that the next time around. Thanks for the tips.
